Magician displays an ordinary empty goblet, then casually shows both sides of a deck of cards, still in its case. He places the deck on top of the mouth of the goblet. Next he shows an English Penny, remarking that the English did away with the old penny which was about the size of a half dollar, to introduce this small one, about the size of an American penny.

He explains that the new penny is small, but can actually get even smaller, small enough to squeeze between the atoms to penetrate objects. To demonstrate this, he places the penny on the deck of cards. "Now watch!"

He counts to three then slaps his hand on the penny, and it drops through the cards into the goblet!
